What happens in the intake?

During the intake, we will gather information and get to know you. It is a time for you to share where you’re BEEN, where you ARE, and where you WANT TO BE. We will use this information together to create a treatment plan with steps to get you to where you envision your life.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes! Everything you share in session is completely confidential. I mean, if you announce that after the session, you’re going to go bomb a local grocery store – we would say something! Or if there is any child abuse or other danger going on. Otherwise – everything stays between us!

What is Teletherapy like?

Teletherapy is very similar to in-person therapy, only we will meet over video instead. The video platform is secure and HIPAA compliant. We will often use a virtual whiteboard where we can both write and draw on.

Do people like Teletherapy?

Yes! Clients often comment about how much they enjoy the convenience of logging on at home, or even sitting in their cars during a lunch break at work. With the use of technology, we are able to do all of the same writing and drawing exercises that we would do in person.

Is Teletherapy covered by insurance?

Yes! If your insurance covers outpatient mental health services, most will cover teletherapy. Call your insurance to find out if what your copay is, if you have one.

Why do people often choose to pay out of pocket if they have insurance?

There are several reasons people choose to pay out of pocket and not involve their insurance.

1. In order for insurance to pay, the client must be diagnosed with a disorder.

2. When insurance is involved, we are limited to their time frames and rules in therapy

3. Because people have to reach their insurance deductible before insurance will start paying, and most people’s deductibles have become so high they never reach them; most people don’t want to hassle with insurance anyway.

What if I have a different insurance than what you take?

We are considered an out of network provider with most insurance companies. We can bill most insurances for out of network coverage or provide you with the necessary documentation to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Call your insurance to inquire about the reimbursement process/rates for out of network providers on your policy.

How do I make an appointment?

You can make an appointment a few ways – give us a call, shoot us an email, or fill out our online form. You will be contacted back within 24 business hours.
